The Lego Group’s spokeswoman, Charlotte Simonsen, asserted in 2009 that over 400 million individuals would play Lego in 2010. It is true that most people feel affectionately about Lego, yet Lego estimates it has at least 250,000 Afols (Adult Fans of Lego) around the world. Conventions, such as BrickFest, take place across the world and it is here where Afols congregate and compete with one another to build the largest Lego constructions, to build a construction the fastest…etc. At one convention, the Biggest Lego Train Layout Ever was created, measured 14ft 7in in length, and consisting of 300,000 bricks. At another convention, the Biggest Lego Train Layout Ever was constructed which ran through an entire Lego cityscape, and measured 3,343ft.

Some enthusiasts created animated short films using sets and characters that are constructed solely from Lego. Believe it or not, a certain Brendan Powell Smith has built The Brick Testament, which comprises a staggering 2,000 scenes from the bible! All with Lego! My goodness! I bet he owns a Lego ninjago too!
